Elantra, a human with an inescapable link to the fairies, is destined to save the world, but she falls in love with William, who is hiding a dark secret that could ruin everything. Love and lies become entwined, hope challenges destitution, and time is warped as generations try to understand each other.

A stunningly beautiful woman with a wizened face approached the young man in the subway car, took a seat beside him and introduced herself as Jesus. A week later they were married. He could not afford to send his soul to eternal damnation by rejecting her. How could he not have wanted to spend the rest of his life with the Saviour? The fact they got married at all said as much about her as it did of him. They both benefitted. He had the best sex he had ever experienced, and she received a faithful subject to mould after her wishes and desires. There were so many questions, but none appeared truly important in the greater scheme of things.
